Collage project

The image above is a collage Christopher did as a sample to show our Mudir (Director of the Youth Center) what sort of workshop we had in mind.  He was pleased with the idea, especially because our plan is to use discarded paper wrappers and printed material as the medium, and thus encourages the idea of recycling. There are several reasons  this sort of collage is appropriate:  art supplies are rather expensive here in Morocco, collage encourages the participants use their imagination, and there is no requirement that the participants have drawing skills.  Of course this workshop will incorporate English vocabulary, art history and color theory.  We are very enthusiastic about the possibilities!

Incidentally, the collage depicted above was donated to a Peace Corps auction last month, and was purchased by a volunteer in our group!
